Guitar wall hanger - guitar wall hooks - guitar storage and display rack
The Ultimate Guitar Rack
Store more guitars in less space than you ever thought possible and fit it in minutes not hours.
The GearHooks® GTR3 guitar wall rack is a unique and stunning way to store and display up to 9 guitars in just 1M of wall space. Mount one above the other to save even more space. If you really want to make a statement you can mount them at an angle or in 'V's 'zig-zags' and 'waves'.
No matter how many guitars you need to store you only need to drill 3 holes for each rack so fitting is really quick and easy, Mounting ordinary wall hooks for 9 guitars would men drilling 36 holes!!!
Whether you're looking for an impressive and space saving way to display your collection in a house or apartment or you want a compact and accessible way to store your instruments in a studio, school, college or university this may be the solution.
As well acoustic and electric guitars* you can also mount mandolins, ukuleles, banjos and even clarinets, cornets, tambourines and just about any other musical instrument.
Each guitar rack is fitted with 3 GearHooks® and will store up to 3, 6 or 9 guitars depending on the length of the GearHooks.
The image above shows one of each length of GearHook® (but this is just to show you the difference). Each rack is supplied with the rail and 3 hooks ready to take 3, 6 or 9 guitars depending on which model you choose:
The GTR3-100 has 3 x 100mm long GearHooks® which hold one guitar each.
The GTR3-200 has 3 x 200mm long GearHooks® which hold two guitars each.
The GTR3-300 has 3 x 300mm long GearHooks® which hold three guitars each.
Each GearHook has a soft silicone coating** to protect your guitars. The rail comes in a choice of colours (red, orange, blue, green, yellow, grey, white and black) so you can match your decor or guitars.
All the GTR3 racks, which can take up to 9 guitars, mount with just 3 holes so fitting is really quick and easy. Screwing 1 ordinary guitar hook to the wall would probably mean you correctly lining up and drilling 4 tiny holes. Fitting enough for 3 guitars would mean 12 holes. For 9 guitars that would be 36 holes!! That's a lot of drilling and lots of opportunities to get it wrong.
All our racks fit with just 3 x 8mm holes that are quick and easy to drill and, because the rails fit via a slot, you can be a few mm off and the rail will still be spot on.
GearHooks® mount on the rail via a sliding nut and clamp that allow the hooks to be fitted anywhere on the rail. You can even rotate the hooks which means you can mount the rail at an angle or mount 2 rails in a V shape to really make a statement.
Some photographs show extra storage hooks so you can store smaller instruments, headphones, microphones, leads and more in between the guitars to really make use of wall space. (these are an optional extra and not included as standard).
The rack is supplied, as standard, with GearHooks® with a 45-55mm gap. This is ideal for a mixture of acoustic and electric guitars* with a ’standard’ 45mm neck. If you have some 12 string or Spanish guitars with a wider neck it is possible to open up the prongs, on longer GearHooks, to make the outermost gap(s) wider.
The GearHooks® Guitar rack is designed and manufactured in the UK, supported throughout Europe and Guaranteed for Life.

* Heavy guitars with curved necks may force open the prongs on longer hooks so we supply 1 or 2 straps per hook, which can be fitted after the first or second guitar, to stop this happening. We recommend storing the heaviest guitars closest to the wall.
Nitrocellulose Lacquer - For schools and colleges we will supply PVC sleeves as standard unless otherwise requested. For all other users, we fit our guitar racks with Silicone sleeves. These should not react with the Nitrocellulose finishes which may be used on Vintage and very expensive guitars. We supply instructions to double check.
SALE PRICES - all complete racks include a reduction of UP TO 20% compared to the cost of buying individual hooks and rails. This discount is applied automatically and the list price and discounted prices are shown on the product pages. Additional discounts (such as free shipping) require a code to activate them.
All prices now include VAT. Business users and schools, colleges etc. can reclaim 20% VAT effectively saving around 40% on the list prices shown.

They look really look well made I haven’t used them yet I got to fix them in studs as the walls are made of Sterling board if they work ok I will be ordering more
Many thanks K.Gibbs
I needed to make some better use of wall space in my home studio, specifically hanging the guitars. The Gear Hooks method allowing up to three instruments on each 'prong' looked like it would really help this. So I ordered. Once received it was pretty easy to install. I (almost) followed the instructions exactly. The only thing I didn't was the recommendation of adding a little WD-40 on the main wall screws, to help prevent 'rounding' the hex socket. Hence I did round one of them. No real problem through as Luis sent me another free of charge and very quickly. This finished the mounting, it looks very tidy and is a very efficient use of the space.
I would recommend this product as it's easy to install, looks good and works well.
Also it's British!
Think these are really good. I couldn’t find anything online but my wife thankfully did. I had been using single hooks but need more space and, with the wall being the dot and dab kind, I was struggling because of various pipes wires etc. The spacing of these mean I can get 4 guitars in much more efficiently and have enough wiggle room to move the fixings an inch or two either way. I didn’t use the bolts that came with it because of the wall, but they look like they would work well in brick or wood. I used dry line pro fixings which bridge the gap between the plaster and go into the brick. Expensive but really strong. I used the washers that came with the racks which seemed to work well. I’ve got some Gibsons and Fenders so was terrified reading what the hook coatings might do so I wrapped some microfibre cloths round them and it looks good and works fine. Maybe this could be some sort of option in future. Also for the Gibsons, the head stock seems to touch the rack at the back so have brought it forwards a bit. Overall really pleased. Looks really good too and I have room to add more guitars
Thanks for your review.
I'm glad you sorted the right fixings out for your wall. Ours cannot be used on dry lined walls.
The guitars should be fine on the silicone sleeves. Just check them after a couple of hours. Nitrocellulose lacquer is very delicate and is used on guitars that are expensive so it's worth checking.
I'm really pleased that you like your GearHooks. They are guaranteed for life so if anything goes wrong or you need anything at all please get back in touch.
Stay safe and well.
For those of us with too many guitars this multi hook system is real step forward compared to single hooks on the market. With the sliding hook facility you can maximise the versatility of the system as your guitar collection grows/changes shape. Great product - only negative is your lack of visibility on the net (trawled for weeks before you came up). In addition, have you considered offering a 500mm long version, to support those folks with two to six guitars.
Arrived very quickly. Easy to install as all fixing provided. Looks great in the grey and now has 6 guitars hanging. Would highly recommend.
I love my new wall hanger- I've got 8 guitars and a two ukes fitting comfortably on my new stand - 5 solid electrics, 1 solid bass, a semi-acoustic and an acoustic and they're holding firm with no hint of wobble. The additional hooks for straps and the like are really helpful. Probably wouldn't fit 9 full size acoustics, but my collection fits beautifully. Superb!
The Instrument wall hangers i found to be robust and of great quality. Also dealt with gearhooks through email with ease. Thoroughly recommended.
Had to put my own screws in as those supplied not man enough, losing their grip. Using the Nine guitar hanging option each row is not long enough for a line of three Acoustic as the third one rubs against the second. Would be fine for six hanging or nine electric guitars.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review.
Our fixings are not suitable for plasterboard or a dry lined wall.
Three acoustic guitars should fit on the hooks (our photos show 6 of my acoustic guitars on two hooks) but they will touch each other. A pad between them might help.
Keep safe and well,
The guitar rack has sorted out our room now that we have them all safely on the rack rather than numerous guitar stands on the floor. Delivered on time a quality product complete with easy to follow instructions. Very pleased!
I was very pleased with the sturdiness of the product and I am happy with the product now on my wall.
The following comments are meant as positive feedback although they may seem to be of a negative tone.
As already mentioned the product is sturdy - it is metal. It is heavy for one person trying to hold it straight at a height on the wall. The instructions were welcome but I had some difficulty recognising which side of the main component bar was meant to face outwards. I actually had the support holders on wrong and then realised something didn't make sense. a bit more clarity in the instructions would have saved time. The product has been fitted to my room wall which is a stud wall so I was pleased to find plenty of holes in the support bar to facilitate plasterboard fittings. Nevertheless, the weight of the product has meant it is slightly off level as I was fitting it 6' 6" up the wall and the weight tipped it slightly.
I purchased the 9 Guitar version but at present I have 6 acoustics hanging, of various sizes. It may take 9 electrics but I wouldn't want to attempt anything beyond 6 acoustics. This is not a problem as I wouldn't want to hang any more weigh, bearing in mind the plasterboard wall the product is fixed to.
It does make me think though that it's just as well I didn't order the 6 Guitar version as I would have been disappointed.
I am well pleased with what I got and I think the product itself is first rate but as meaningful feedback is meant to be helpful I hope the above comments are of help as they reflect issues and thoughts I had when fitting the product.
