What is garden tool storage?

A GearHooks Garden Tool Hooks Rack will hold around 30 tools on a 1 metre long wall mounted rack and can save a lot of space.

Garden tool storage can be anything from an old bucket to a wall mounting rack. Storing in a container can make tools hard to get to. Ordinary garden tool hooks store one garden tool at a time so they take up a lot of wall space very quickly.

The GearHooks® GDN5 is the highest capacity Garden Tool Hooks Rack you can buy. It's ideal for anyone with a lot of gardening tools but not much space. The key to its success is being able to store lots of tools one behind the other as well as next to each other.

If you have a messy pile of rusting garden tools in the corner of your shed or garage and you can never find the one you want, then this may be the solution.

It's also very heavy duty and can hold chain saws, hedge trimmers, mauls and sledgehammers. It's used by ordinary gardeners as well as gardening contractors, professional gardeners, county councils, colleges and anyone who needs a 'bomb-proof' garden tool rack. This is not a row of cheap hooks that will use up all your wall space in no time. It's not a cheap folded wire rack that will bend trying to hold a sledge hammer or an axe either (each of our hooks will hold 4 at a time).

It's a high capacity, heavy duty, steel rack with 5 tool hooks all mounted on a 1 metre long wall mounting rail.

Each GearHook® tool hook is 300mm long so you can stack 5, 6 or more tools, one behind the other, on each of the 5 hooks. That’s around 25 or 30 tools per metre!

You would use up 5M or 6M of wall space with ordinary garden tool storage racks that only store tools 1 deep. That means it works out cheaper too.

If you have even more tools you can fit more than one rack next to each other.

Each Garden Tool Hooks Rack includes a 1 metre long steel rail and fittings for brick, block, concrete or wooden walls. Once the rail is fitted to the wall (with just 3 bolts) you can add and move tool hooks in seconds, without any more drilling.

The rack comes with 5 special GearHooks® for all manner of tools from hand trowels to spades, sledge hammers, hedge trimmers. chain saws and much more.

The 1Metre long steel rail is galvanised and powder coated in your colour choice so it looks great and won’t rust.

Each of the 5 GearHooks® is made from 8mm diameter galvanised steel which can be fitted in any position and moved with just an Allen key. Each one is 300mm long, has a 45-60mm gap between prongs and will support up to 20Kg (with really heavy items closest to the wall).

Electric or petrol strimmers, hedge cutters, leaf blowers and even chain saws are no problem.

Tools can be stored over both prongs, between the prongs or can be hung on separate prongs. Each of the GearHooks® can be adjusted left and right as well as up and down to avoid items hitting each other.

Dimensions and Specifications

The rail is 1 metre long but you may need to allow a bit more space on each side for wider tools which overlap the rail.

The height you need will be the length of your longest tool (like a rake) plus about 300mm (to allow for clearance off the floor and anything sticking up above the rail).

Fitting Instructions

Fitting is simple, on a shed or garage wall. The rail has over 20 mounting slots and can be mounted by drilling just 3 holes.

On a wooden wall - drill 3 x 5mm holes 65mm deep. You may need to fit a 2"x2" batten between uprights in some sheds.

On a solid wall (brick, block, concrete) - drill 3 x 8mm holes 70mm deep. Use the nylon wall plugs supplied.

Spray the threads of the screws to make turning them easier.

The GearHooks® can then be fitted anywhere on the rail and adjusted up, down and sideways with just an Allen Key.

Great Product and service to match.

There was a small issue with the order placed, but it was immediately and very satisfactorily solved.

Excellent, simple and well made kit. It is simple and straightforward to install. Delivered promptly and well packaged without unnecessary waste.

Great bit of kit

Nice and simple and well made. Had a bit of trouble fixing to my garage wall but only because it’s made of dreadful cheap breeze blocks that crumble around rawl plugs. Emailed them and Luis immediately sent some new fixings free of charge. Great service. The hooks do mark the bar when you attach them and you need to screw them tightly if you’re loading them up but this is explicitly warned about in the instructions. I wonder if a strip of rubber on the back of the hooks or along the bar could help with both grip and the marking issue but then it’s in a garage not the lounge so some small marks aren’t a big issue!

Exactly what we were looking for

Bought this for a small/slimline storage shed to help maximise space. We did have to think about the install because we needed to strengthen the horizontal batons and make sure the screws went into the thickest bits of wood, but it’s worked fine and is super sturdy. Really pleased, fits everything in and is so neat!

Don’t buy anything else

I took down a bodged arrangement and put this up. Absolutely brilliant. Stores all my stuff. Drilled it onto the wall studs. There must be about 100kg of tools dangling off it. Chain saw, hi lift jack, spades, pry bars. Beautiful kit. Great comms. Highly recommended.

What a great addition to my garage

Great quality, works perfectly

From ordering to delivery to installation this was a great experience and a quality piece of equipment.
Fast delivery and wall rack arrived very well packaged.
The box even had instructions to open it at the correct end and the cable ties used to secure everything are reusable ones 👍
Good instructions and easy to install and even though I was securing the wall rack to timber wall cladding and plywood it's very solid with the recommended three fixings although additional fixings can be done at a later stage.

Even down to the clinically laid out packaging made entirely of recycled materials, the quality and experience of GearHooks defies all expectations. I spent ages looking for a suitable garage wall hanging solution and I am beyond pleased that I bought this one. Excellent tool rack

Pay close attention to the instructions. I forgot to add the washers and they are very important or your rack won't be level.

The rack has been essential for tidying up. I'm currently using it to hang all sorts from gardening tools, and woodworking bits. Especially useful for clamps!

Useful for organising my refurbished garage

Purchased three gearhooks rails for my bikes and garden tools. I've only just installed the rail for the bikes, but expect similar for the rest of the kit purchased. Liked how robust the rail and hooks are and the quick mechanism for moving the hooks along the rail.

Good Kit and Nice Company to Deal With

The package came with everything needed and labelled. The instructions were easy to understand and the kit itself is very well made. After fitting the first kit I ordered a sceond and also an additional hook. All this has been installed on the ply lined walls of my van. This was not what the kit was designed for but nevertheless is working well. The only improvement I can think of is if the rails could be available in sizes in additon to 1mtr e.g. 25cm, 50cm, 75cm, 1.25mtr, etc.

Huge storage capacity, well engineered product

After much on-line research concerning storage options for my shed I was persuaded to order the Gear Hooks system by the very positive user reviews. I have just installed two gardening tool racks in my shed and have neatly stored a huge number of tools and garden equipment of all kinds. Also, although there are cheaper solutions out there, the engineering and manufacturing quality are very high. I'll be buying some more for the garage in due course. It's good to support a British company in a category where usually everything comes from China.

Excellent product and service

I spent a while looking for a space-efficient and cost-effective way of storing the bikes in my garage. I'm really glad I went for GearHooks - the product is cleverly designed, nicely made and easy to install (fixings for brick walls included). As a bonus it is UK-made and was delivered quickly, in recyclable/reusable packaging and with very clear instructions. The 4 Bike Wall Rack accommodates two mountain bikes and two road bikes (one of which has mudguards and a rear rack fitted). My 11-year-old son is easily able to fit and remove his mountain bike to the rack. Highly recommended.
