"The best UK designed and manufactured ski wall rack you can buy - or your money back!"

The GearHooks® Ski Wall Hanger is an adaptable, adjustable and expandable wall mounting ski rack. It will hang up to 6 pairs* of skis, poles, helmets and other ski gear in the minimum space at home, in the garage or in a ski lodge.

The Ski Club of Great Britain recently tested and reviewed the full range. This is what they said:

"Gearhooks will come as a boon to anyone looking for a simple, stylish and convenient way to rack their kit."

"Given the price of a Gearhooks system it’s a great investment for any skier or boarder with a quiver."

They concluded that the GearHooks ski and board racks were:

"A simple, easy-to-use storage solution for skis and boards at a great price"

It is a combination of ski wall hanger and ski equipment organiser. It will safely store all your expensive gear in just 1M of wall space, off the floor and out of the way where its clean and dry.

Each ski rack comes fitted with 2, 4 or 6 x 200mm long GearHooks® each specially designed to hold a single pair of skis, ski poles and a helmet. You can order a ski rack  with just the right number of ski hooks (you can always buy more later) or order one with more hooks and use the spare ones to store ski clothing, transceiver, probes, shovel, backpacks, helmets and much more.

The SR2 has 2 200mm long GearHooks® for 2 pairs of skis, poles and helmet

The SR4 has 4 200mm long GearHooks® for 4 pairs of skis, poles and helmet

The SR6 has 6 200mm long GearHooks® for 6 pairs of skis, poles and helmet

Each hook can be fitted anywhere on the rail and be moved up or down to stagger the bindings. This allows the most pairs of skis (of any length and any binding type) to be stored in the minimum amount of wall space.

If you have even more skis, or snowboards as well, the SBR2/4/6 has up to 6 x 300mm hooks which each hold two pairs of skis and poles, or 1 or 2 snowboards, giving a total of 12 pairs of skis or boards per 1M long rail.

Each ski rack comprises a 1M long steel rail which is galvanised and powder coated in your choice of colour. Each GearHook is 200mm long with a 25mm gap and made from cold formed, zinc plated, mild steel with a soft rubber coating. GearHooks are fitted to the rail with a CNC machined clamp, M8 hex head (Allen key) bolt and sliding nut. The end result is as strong as a custom welded rack but you can add or move hooks whenever you want.

There are extra hooks (available separately) for more skis, snowboards, boots, clothing, helmets, backpacks, transceivers, shovels and probes.

* Different ski type limitations

Mounting 6 pairs of adult Piste skis or child skis on a rack creates very different loads and stresses to mounting 6 pairs of heavy, All Mountain, Powder or Fat skis (over 7KG).

Heavy skis may spread the prongs of the hook and, if they, or the next pair of skis, have a small tip rocker, they may slip through the prongs. We supply a velcro strap to prevent this happening.

If you have more than 6 pairs of heavy skis and bindings, you may need extra wall fixings. Please ask if you do.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How many skis (and gear) can this rack store using minimal wall space?

The GearHooks® Ski Wall Rack is engineered to hang up to **6 pairs of skis** (with poles and a helmet) in just **1 metre of wall space**.
Because each GearHook® can be placed anywhere along the rail and also moved vertically, bindings can be staggered so that skis of varying lengths fit compactly without interference.
This means maximum storage density with minimal footprint — ideal for tight spaces like garages, ski lodges, utility rooms or holiday homes.

2. Who is this ski wall rack ideal for (and in what settings)?

This rack suits anyone with multiple skis to organise, including:

  • Families or households with multiple skiers and different ski sets
  • Ski clubs, lodges or rental shops that manage many pairs seasonally
  • Winter sports coaches, schools or camps wanting to store skis neatly
  • Avid skiers or backcountry users with quivers of skis, poles, helmets and accessories
  • Holiday homes, cabins, garages or ski chalets needing efficient gear storage

Because the system is modular and expandable (with extra hooks or rails), it can grow as your gear collection grows.

3. Can I expand it for more than six pairs or include snowboards and boots?

Yes — the GearHooks® rail accepts additional hooks for more skis or boards, and some hooks are longer (300 mm) to carry two pairs of skis or even a snowboard.
You can also order extra hooks to hang boots, helmets, backpacks, avalanche gear, probes, shovels and other accessories.
Because the rail has over 20 fixing slots and sliding nuts/clamps, any added hooks can be flexibly positioned for optimal storage layout.

4. Will heavy skis or wide bindings risk slipping off or damaging the rack?

The system is built to support child and adult piste, all-mountain or powder skis, but there are caveats:

  • Heavier skis (especially over 7 kg total) place higher stress on the hook arms, which may spread slightly.
  • If bindings have small tip rockers or slim profiles, skis may slip through. To prevent this, the rack kit includes a Velcro strap to stop the hook opening.
  • For more than six pairs of heavy skis, additional wall fixings may be required to ensure load distribution. These are free

When properly used and load-balanced, the rack maintains strong, secure support even for heavier setups.

5. What are the mounting requirements and installation details?

Installation is designed to be simple yet robust:

  • The kit includes a 1 m steel rail (galvanised and powder coated) plus three hex head wall bolts and corresponding wall plugs for masonry or wood surfaces.
  • The rail has >20 fixing slots to permit flexible mounting and alignment, even with slight mis-drill errors.
  • Each GearHook is 200 mm long with a 25 mm gap, and is attached to the rail via clamps, sliding nuts, and M8 bolts.
  • Choose fixings depending on your wall: use drywall studs, timber battens, masonry anchors, or concrete screws appropriate to your substrate.
  • When installed, test incrementally—hang one pair, then increase load, checking for any movement or strain.

6. How should I stagger skis of different lengths and binding styles? Does it waste space?

Staggering bindings is a built-in feature of this rack:

  • You can shift each hook vertically (move up/down) along the rail so that binding widths or curves don’t collide.
  • By offsetting the vertical positions of adjacent skis, the rack can accommodate various lengths without significant
  • This staggered placement ensures compactness even for long skis, enabling more pairs in less horizontal span.

7. Will hanging skis on the wall damage them over time (e.g. base, edges, finish)?

No — provided you use proper protection and avoid extreme environments:

  • The hooks include soft rubber sleeves to shield ski surfaces, edges and bases from abrasion.
  • The spacing and alignment reduce friction points, and skis are held by the binding area, not the bases.
  • Avoid mounting near direct heat sources, heater vents or in locations with large temperature/humidity swings, which could affect finishes or cause warping.
  • For maximum protection, periodically check for wear of the rubber sleeves and replace if they deteriorate.

8. How high or where should I mount the rack for safe and convenient use?

Positioning the rack well ensures safety and usability:

  • Mount the center line of the rail at a comfortable reach height (~1.5m or slightly above) so you can hang/unhang skis without a ladder.
  • Aim to have the bottoms of the skis clear of the ground (e.g. 10–20 cm clearance) to prevent tips from catching or dragging.
  • If your skis are very long, ensure the ceiling or overhead shelf provides enough clearance when hung.
  • Avoid placing it directly above radiators, near doorways or in high-traffic zones to reduce risk of accidental knock or damage.

9. How do I maintain and inspect the rack over time?

Regular checks help retain safety and performance:

  • Inspect fixings periodically (e.g. start of skiing season) for looseness or fatigue in wall anchors.
  • Check rubber sleeves and hooks for wear or cracks — replace if they degrade.
  • Ensure skis remain well seated, especially if you add or reposition hooks.
  • Look for any bending, warping or corrosion on the rail or hook arms and treat/replace if necessary.
  • Rebalance loads if you remove or add skis, particularly heavy ones, to maintain even stress on the rail.

10. Why choose this ski wall rack over individual ski racks, floor storage or slotted ski cabinets?

Advantages of the GearHooks® approach include:

  • Maximised vertical density — you store up to 6 pairs in a narrow 1 m rail, instead of many separate racks.
  • Minimal drilling — just one rail with three strong fixings, rather than multiple individual mount points.
  • Better floor space — skis remain off the floor, leaving floor clear for gear, boots, bags or movement.
  • Modular expandability — you can add hooks or rails and reconfigure layout as needed.
  • A neat and tidy display — skis are easier to see, access and maintain, compared to piling or leaning them.

Dimensions and Specifications

The rail is 1 metre long but you may need to allow a bit more space on each side for anything that might overlap the rail.

The height you need will be the length of your longest set of skis plus about 300mm (to allow for clearance off the floor and anything sticking up above the rail).

Fitting Instructions

Fitting is simple, on a shed or garage wall. The rail has over 20 mounting slots and can be mounted by drilling just 3 holes.

On a wooden wall - drill 3 x 5mm holes 65mm deep. You may need to fit a 2"x2" batten between uprights in some sheds.

On a solid wall (brick, block, concrete) - drill 3 x 8mm holes 70mm deep. Use the nylon wall plugs supplied.

Spray the threads of the screws to make turning them easier.

The GearHooks® can then be fitted anywhere on the rail and adjusted up, down and sideways with just an Allen Key.

Fantastic addition to our ski room

We have four meters of rack holding 6 pairs of skis, three bikes, a golf bag, and helmets. It has transformed the order in our ski room, making more space, at a very low cost. I do recommend these racks. I like the way that the company stopped me buying the white ones (because they mark) and my black ones look great. The delivery to Switzerland was easy and seamless.

Fantastic product and excellent instructions

The Product is exactly as described, heavy duty, good quality and the rubber on the hooks protect your Skis. Very clever design to move the height of the hooks to stagger the bindings to make sure all the skis fit - I didn't notice that before, but look carefully at the photos. The Instructions were also very details, however a few more diagrams / images of how to mount the springer metal piece and mount the hooks would have been good. All in all - incredible attention to detail in the product, packaging and instructions - 11 out of 10 - thank you!

Excellent Quality and (Almost) Easy to Fit

The rack and hooks arrived quickly, were well packaged and the quality was evident upon opening. Step by step instructions made it easy to install. My only, hopefully constructive, criticisms are that, originally, I bought the rack intending to use it for both my alpine and nordic skis. Alpine skis are fine, but the hooks are too wide for nordic skis. However, they do cope with rollerskis, so I've still been able to use the rack, just in a different way to intended. Also, it might be useful to highlight the height needed to accommodate skis i.e. length of skis plus 20cms as that would have been an issue for my nordic skis. This information is in the instructions, but I wasn't aware of this before buying.

Snowboard/ski rack

Absolutely brilliant I ordered a red rack with 4 long huck’s / arm’s but then realised that I needed an extra 2 huck’s / arm’s I contacted Luis and he said that the rack I had was bid enough to hold all 6 arm’s / huck’s to hold 2 snowboards and 5 sets of skis. Absolutely brilliant thank you for all your help and advice

Worth every cent!

You notice the quality as soon as you unpack it, and you can see straight away that they have thought about it. The assembly was a joy, screws, dowels, everything is perfect. The skis hold, and the 3 other racks do what they are supposed to. Unfortunately I don't have any more space, otherwise I would buy more racks :) Best wishes from Germany
